Wonderland is a living entity that will evolve over time, by the use of governance you can participate in the updates and changes of this protocol. This post provides instructions on how to become an active governance participant.
In this article you will find instructions on how to discuss, create and vote on proposals for Wonderland. While the steps are presented here in order of the governance process with three phases, you can participate directly in a proposal at any phase. Keep in mind that you need to respect all three steps in case of creating a new proposal.

Tutorial Overview
- General Discussion thread
- [RFC] Request For Comment
- [WIP] Wonderland Improvement Proposal
- Launching a Snapshot Vote
1. General Discussion thread
Every community proposal starts with an informal discussion on the Wonderland General Discussion section. This step allows ideas to gather community insights for refinement before launching a Request For Comment post.
To do so, navigate to General Discussion category of the forum and click + New Topic
button on the upper right. When choosing a title for the post, make sure that it gives other users an idea of what you’d like to discuss.
Make sure to select the 1. General Discussion
(yellow arrow) category when posting your discussion. Once you’ve written a detailed question, you can post your thread and start gathering momentum around your idea.
Duration: variable, depending on community engagement
Passing Requirement: For a discussion to transition to the second phase of the framework, there is no formal requirements. The discussion should determine interest and community support towards an idea.
2. Request For Comment
The second phase of the Wonderland Governance Framework, requires a new thread to be posted using the [RFC] Request For Comment template. To do so, navigate to the [RFC] Request For Comment category on the forum, and click the + New Topic
button. Your draft post will automatically be populated by the RFC template for you to fill in.
The RFC template focuses on giving each proposal the same structure. It is a living document, a work in progress and does not necessarily have to be fully completed from the beginning. It can evolve into a full proposal throughout a productive discussion.
In addition to the filling out the fields, this phase of the governance framework must also include a forum poll, to establish initial sentiment.
To configure this poll, edit in the poll outcomes by entering each item with a *
and a space on a new line, as shown below.
In this example the poll has three possible choices:
- Publish the Governance Framework
- Edit the Governance Framework
- Make No Changes
Make sure to always include the third option, ‘Make No Changes’ to allow the community to voice their opinion.
Once you’re satisfied with your RFC, click the + Create Topic
button at the bottom of the post.
Congrats, you have officially submitted your RFC. A moderator will review the RFC and make sure that a previous discussion has been linked to the thread.
Duration: several days
Passing Requirement: once the template is completed and the community has a clear understanding of the proposal, the final version can be submitted for WIP and a moderator will review for approval into a [WIP] Wonderland Improvement Proposal.
3. [WIP] Wonderland Improvement Proposal
The final phase of the governance framework consists of two steps.
- Posting the [WIP] in the Wonderland Improvement Proposal category
- Creating a Wonderland Snapshot Poll
An [RFC] Request for Comment thread which has been finalized, will be submitted to the Wonderland Improvement Proposal category. To do so, navigate to the [WIP] Wonderland Improvement Proposal category on the forum, and click the + New Topic
button.
Your draft post will come up and the final version of the RFC can be entered. Once you’re satisfied with your WIP, click the + Create Topic
button at the bottom of the post.
Congrats, you have officially submitted your WIP. A moderator will review the WIP and make sure it aligns with the previous discussions. Once it has been reviewed by one of our forum moderators, it will be renamed to “[WIP #X] Title of the Proposal”
The community needs to have enough time to research and discuss the WIP, before it can vote on the subject. That is why a minimum duration of at least 4 days is recommended before the official Snapshot Vote goes live.
4. Creating a Wonderland Snapshot poll for a [WIP]
