I agree with this. Sifu promises to refund all liquidations below backing price!
Let him back in!! Everyone can have a new clean second chance⌠I think as far as I saw before this dive we were doing great with Sifu onboard
Definetely wanting Sifu back
I really appreciate this proposal. It really encompasses a thorough overview of the situation, the emotions involved, presents some reasonable evidence for consideration. I hope that weâre able to explore this possibility further. The ragequit option would probably go in tandem with some of the backlash that could come from this, but⌠if Sifu is as changed as this proposal presents, he could move forward, embracing his mistakes without having to hide and truly be able to put it behind him, and continue focusing on the work he was doing. Additionally, itâs clear how influential he was on the community during the âshut down vote.â He posted one announcement and much of the community rallied in support of Wonderland thereafter.
Again, despite his past, I think itâs reasonable to consider this option. Thank you for taking the time to submit it.
always have been in favor of sifu from the start, was also one that voted to keep him as treasurer
hopefully sifu would come back and continue where he left off with his project
iâm all for this, we miss sifu
My dear fellow Frog(s);
A few of you, perhaps two, seem to be confused. That must be why you are so snippy and defensive. As if I was attacking you!
Wait, matjai⌠is that you Omar/Sifu?
I am not putting the man on trial and trying to prosecute him in the court of frog opinion. In fact, I could give a shit. Iâm from the street. It is extremely rare to find an individual with Omar/Sifuâs talent.
Finding alpha is easy. Analysts/Interns find alpha all the time. Do they know itâs alpha? Probably not. Actually definitely not. But the trader who picks up on the alpha and crystallizes a direct line to a profitable investment, thatâs rare. Even MORE unique is an individual who possesses market structure knowledge at such a level that they source their own alpha, and within seconds have gone from conceptualization to structuring a trade that is so fkng big it terrifies most people and causes some to puke and [soil] their pants at the same time.
Omar is one of these individuals. Without a doubt, his knowledge of defi and crypto is extremely valuable. Which is why this entire fiasco sucks and why I hope everyone sees wisdom in bringing him on as an outside adviser rather than some other fund or operation (after he changes his name again, j/k⌠not)
I hate that we are where we are. I wish that ideological, self righteous (and totally correct) Twitter junky, zachbtc or whatever t.f., would have kept his/her mouth shut. I wish Sifu would have been more careful and kept this info locked away and never shared it with anyone. I wish the Twitterverse didnât exist to disseminate rumors at the speed of light.
But weâre not living in some alternate reality (at least most of us arenât). We react to facts on the ground AND prevailing sentiment in the air BECAUSE we are at the forefront of experimental capitalism, whose state is so fragile that a butterfly could flap its wings on the other side of the planet causing our heads to get torn off by one of the sand monsters in Dune. Ok, that would be an alternate reality⌠but you get my point.
This DAO stands on two foundations, both of which are critical to its survival:
- Investors faith in the protocol (more accurately: no reason to doubt the protocol and pull their funds in a classic bank run) and
- Its public image (i.e personas) that translates into gaining exclusive access to choice deal flow because start-ups need capital but they need a plug-n-play mass of eyeballs even more, especially after getting the money.
It just so happens this DAO has a few truckloads of money and Frog Nation to deliver the eyeballs that jumpstarts any project. A real force of nature. And as first movers, our fate will have repercussions on the whole of DeFi. If we go down, or bring back a convicted felon as Treasurer, the regulatory hand will come down hard, we will become the poster child of the anti-defi movement, we will not realize any of our expectations from this project.
Let me reiterate something for the two of you that may still be on the fence:
Letâs be real, we would not be having these dIscussions if we were not concerned with, nor beholden to, the previously mentioned variables of Investor trust and start-ups clamoring to get our attention.
WTF cares about what happened 18 years ago, or 10 years ago, or even 7 years ago? Thatâs ancient history when all that matters is: Performance tomorrow and the next day.
Which is why it truly sucks to be here, for any of us to be here. I want everything to go back to the way things were on the same day the snapshot was taken for the recent airdrop. If onlyâŚ
But our reality, the one you and I and anyone reading this lives in, is such that this âexperiment in capitalismâ depends on its reputation in a world where a simple google search can bring up the articles I posted earlier. Those are poorly written (except for Vice) âquasi-articlesâ targeting the tabloid crowd, the ones that read âNational Enquirerâ while waiting to check out of a grocery store. Click bait.
But Wonderland, Frog Nation, depends on its reputation. Frog Nation and WL are both the subject of public discourse. If that discourse becomes toxic, the shifting winds of investor sentiment will absolutely destroy WL. We should have been much more tactical and strategic with how we handled PR for Wonderland. As a billion dollar fund in defi, we should have been protective of the DAOâs reputation, and PR should have been handled by professionals from the outset.
This is not some garage or basement operation hoping to get funded. For fucks sake. WL is funded. Why are we trying so hard to cock block ourselves? Why is every FUDster just another jealous idiot envious about the success of others, to such an irrational level that they will manifest their own failure?
As important as our ability to find alpha, is our ability to preserve public sentiment in favor of this project. At the heart of it, most of the DeFi ecosystem is only operational because the industry remains unregulated. Many projects would be illegal because they far too closely resemble âPonzinomicsâ.
As a free market capitalist, my philosophy remains:
âAs long as we stray just slightly outside the lines, our straying was due to the lines having been drawn incorrectlyâ But that philosophy doesnât stand in a
FUCKIING BUSINESS THAT IS SUSCEPTIBLE TO BANK RUNS
PERCEPTION, SENTIMENT, IMAGE, REPUTATION = SUCCESSFUL DAO
Itâs that simple.
Thank you for the thoughtful and well-considered post. I think all of the points you make are valid. I disagree with your conclusion, because I think time and performance would dissolve the perception problems, but this is the quality of conversation we need here in the forum. Thanks again.
SIFU must be reinstalled however needs help alongside with a professional team as SIFU must have restricted control or no control at all over the treasury.
The so called revelations were FUD meant to destroy Wonderland bare in mind that SIFU=Danielle nothing more nothing less.
Wonderland isnât Wonderland without SIFU.
The decision upon the treasury has to be splited between a group of professionals with Danielle and SIFU in role of visionary and people with ideas. Sifu grew the treasury more than 1.2 billion . Where 500 millions vanished?
You donât need to work at NASA to figure out where?
Is the bill we paid for the FUD created alongside SIFU is when Time and Wmemo tanked dramatically when all Idiotic nation panicked like twats and sold off stupidly and yes all these shite paid adds YouTubers hey they made it .
Bare in mind that all good friends in crypto that warns you are the paid YouTubers of others.
A lot of competition trying to take advantage as on Reddit an obscure APY were advertising ,for the Wonderland victims we pay more come join us.
Wonderland was the first of its kind in Crypto the others trying to imitate us, stealing our ideas trying to destroy Wonderland spreading FUD using they paid YouTubers.
I donât think you are from the street, lol. You arenât talking street. If you would have presented this instead of propaganda, I think you would have had a better response. Zachxbt was not totally correct, (is that you Zach? )
The fact of the matter is that he WILL NOT be returning as treasurer, so our opinion on the matter is moot. Iâm just glad he will be able to see that not everyone dismissed him just because of his past.
Iâm down. I was one of the few who voted for him to stay. Letâs vote Sifu back in!
Very well spoken i support reinstatement of Sifu.
Funds are Safu with Sifu!
im down with his return, lets make this great again
Come back to us Sifu.
I support the discussion and agreed with this proposal.
Let turn all this mess upside down. will be also beneficial for Sifu reputation.
Vote to remove Sifu was rushed and many who voted in favor of removing Sifu were not given adequate time to find out the whole story behind Sifuâs past. The poll on page #18 of this proposal, which I recommend participating in, shows that if this proposal went to WIP, the community would vote to reinstate Sifu to his original position as treasury manager.
I believe we need someone managing our treasury who is talented and experienced in Defi. And if you are also in favor of someone who is doxxed, Sifu now meets that criteria as well. I propose moving this proposal through the governance process and if it passes, asking Sifu to return.
The greatest comeback for frogs, frog nation and Wonderland would be to bring Sifu back in charge and Sifu making Wonderlandâs grand original plan a reality. This is something thatâs only possible in a place like defi.
If we did bring sifu back, we should have to have him explain the shit he has done in the past. He should acknowledge his mess ups to us
Of course we need proof of sifuâs actions, but you can simply trace transaction, so you can verify yourself the blockchain part
This is something that should be discussed after our bigger issues are addressed. We canât become an emotional group who make a decision one week then change our minds the next. This does not promote stability, it promote chaotic swings.
Totally agree. Objectively speaking he did a great job. It felt like he was the scapegoat and crucified publicly yet no one ever heard his side of the story. The OP kinda confirmed what I was thinking that theres more to the story. I personally feel like that now having Sifi back might not be the worst decision. Even though many might think so due to reputation but if all allegations can be dismissed easily then it would be a hell of a comeback tbh.
