[WIP #6] - Wonderland Moderator Compensation

we been through a fair amount of pain and hemorrhaged with rage quit. we should give wdrland at least 6mnths to get back on her feet and all pull together for the greater good. i believe Danielle and his vision and we can pay mods after initial period with a basic and performance based targets. in my country its a salary of a professional.not to be sneezed at but for now a volunteer is a volunteer and wndrland did well in its initial phase. Mods can look forward to future rewards as Dans vision and rhetoric comes to fruition.
THANKYOU AND LONG LIVE WONDERLAND

Clap Clap to you sir, make your words mine

indeed my friend that like half a year of salary for me lmao

Paying 25.000 $ per month for mods only is just pure lunacy, period!:warning:

This just shows again that the wonderland team has absolutely no sense of money and managment, its always easy to spend the money of someone else.

This is just madness.:man_facepalming:

Thumbs up from me.

With it all be being paid in mim it will be important that payment reviews are set up periodically - mostly to allow for pay rises when appropriate.

Itā€™s just another way to extract money from the treasury. Weā€™re all being taken for a ride

Itā€™s a joke. Weā€™re being long conned. Close down the discord, it does nothing but spread fud anyway. Periodic announcements via a website or reddit. Theyā€™re taking the piss wanting us to pay their salaries. And $25k a month what a joke.

1 month of desert hiking, and this is the proposal that get prioritised? Seriously? paying moderators WIP is more rushed than finding a treasury manager?

TM WIP is being finalized and is with Dani. Takes a bit more time given the importance of the role.

i have repeated this elsewhere, but investors are down bad yet this gets rammed through instead of selecting a TM

I will put it very simply. Nobody should get paid before investors. If itā€™s so easy to make money with the treasury I want to remind you that all holders have not made a dime out of this investment. 99% of holders are still down big time, so before talking about compensating a normal mod make things straight for everyone and then we can talk about it. Want to pay moderators to go pay them with your own pockets and donate not from the treasury that every holder has invested in for growth. In Italy, they would not pay you even 700 euros for 70 hours of work a week for a server position and you get no contract with 0 hours to imagine a discord mod ā€¦
You make it sound so normal itā€™s just "taking a slice of the treasury " ā€¦ like itā€™s nothing.
Forcing the community to use that slice for something that most people can do blindfolded, doesnā€™t take any particular skill or experience is unacceptable. If Mod changed their minds after applying to a volunteering position they need to address this to the team, not to the community. Or they should appeal to the community to ask the core team to provide compensation for team expenses.

Still support this 100%. I think it might be a good idea to rename the position so people understand what you are doing is more than mere moderation. I recommend something like community coordinator with Alice as community manager.

I remember putting my money on a RPG Gaming DAO last yearā€¦

I thought about what you said and I understand your anger.

Although I donā€™t agree that is so sample to be a moderator because it goes way over the easy task to answer some users questions. And also I donā€™t agree that few should pay the moderators of the whole DAO. I agree on the fact that investors should be paid first.

You are right on this and it should be considered. If we agree we can decide to pay the moderators after the wMemo staking and so the ā€œdividendsā€ has been released to the investors.

In this way only when the protocol is generating actual yield for the investors the Dao will start pay also the moderators.

I think this embrace the right philosophy of paying the investors first.

Pay the Moderators!! They All Have Been So Generous With Their Time and Patience!

The reason ā€œthe dividendsā€ will not instantly make things straight, (imho itā€™ll make everything worse at this point for this exact reason) is that the project has no functionality, no action, no structure, nothing going on at all except some clique requesting lump sum payments priced at fiat in exchange for very-low effort janitorial Discord/Forum work, and some $500mm worth of very popular tokens locked up somewhere;
ā€“ as a result, the dividends paid will be very very very disappointingly small + probably sharply diminishing in returns as well, since the tokens in the treasury are not put to use at all, but sitting there like a non-existent TV set in my living room?

With this rate, itā€™ll take multiple years of the mentioned dividends just to get the promised-but-never-came BSGG staking airdrop part 2, which was supposed to be 4x the flat-rate drop in the first part.
ā€“ My understanding is that money was given to the immediate Andre NFT stakers when Sifu asked people if they could please immediately stake money on Andre NFT on the last day. A month later or so, Andre announced his cypto retirement LOL.

  • Dividends, revenue sharing etcā€¦ Same words repeated as a response to anything an everything for months and months with nothing new. Patryn -ahem sorry, Sifu- at least had better baits than thatā€¦

$25k per month? $3k per mod? No way. Being a mod does not entail that much work, as laid out above in the mod responsibilities, to warrant that kind of pay.

Iā€™m a mod for Wonderland and a couple of other discords (with about 10k people each) and a small twitch channel that gets roughly 500 views per stream every weekday. Iā€™ve cut back on Wonderland because the other communities needed my attention more.

Being a mod should be about wanting to volunteer to help the community. Thatā€™s first and foremost. Not about getting paid. And mods arenā€™t doing work that others canā€™t do. This isnā€™t a high skilled job. Mods for various communities (reddit, twitch, etc.) rarely get paid. Againā€¦itā€™s about wanting to contribute to the community

Iā€™m not against these guys getting paid. But this is just too much money for what they do. And to prioritize this at this time of stage of Wonderland seems wrong. We need to focus on investors. Iā€™m kinda disappointed this WIP has gotten this far into the process.

So let see this math, here i am working with machine learning as a software engineer, 3k a month. And weā€™re hiring some anons to moderate a discord channel, also for 3k a month. Something is not adding up here.

Iā€™m not against ppl getting paid for their work and effort.

Im dealing with an 80% loss on investment, rage-quit was just a scam for ppl to cash out at 40k and reinvest at 20k. Itā€™s taking weeks for wonderland to do anything meaningful.

And now weā€™re paying 3k a month for a low skilled job makes me question why we are even debating this.

Sorry but the one on ones - side work - etc ā€¦ should 100 percent be considered for time worked!!! Itā€™s what mods have to do half the time! Itā€™s Time consuming. Find a way to log that inā€¦ or donā€™t be upset if complaints start to arise from members because they are getting less & less help ā€œon the sideā€. Sometimes DMs are needed especially for team members, impossible to turn off. Especially if the staff doesnā€™t enable or unlock certain permissions and channels needed. Get screenshots, idk, find a way. Because that will reduce quality of work in ANY project.

  1. be more specific about change in pay if change in performance; people need sick days. What if someone is sick for 4 daysā€¦ then what? Outline those clearly ahead of timeā€¦

  2. Make sure your mods can talk about time - flowā€¦ as in sometimes youā€™re not all gonna be on there at once. Does someoneā€™s schedule coordinate better with night shift modding , and someoneā€™s needs dayā€¦ (for example)

I still donā€™t understand why the RFC was moved to a WIP when clearly the community doesnā€™t want this. Voting No.

The amounts we are talking are just ludicrous. Maybe a few hundred per month to support / incentivize certain individualsā€¦ 25K/mo? 3-4K per person?.. for community moderation!!!

After all the Wonderland drama, donā€™t we have bigger fish to fry as a community??!

Letā€™s not embarrass ourselves by putting this up on a snapshot vote please.
